Directed by the award-winning Martin Scorsese, The Irishman tells the ambitious real life story of Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran, played here by Robert De Niro, and his journey throughout WWII and beyond, one which ends with a life serving a crime family and interactions with the famous Jimmy Hoffa (Al Pacino) before his unexplained disappearance....

We’ve reported on a number of big improvements coming to iOS 7 for both app developers and accessory manufacturers already. The Google Glass project may not be in the lime light as much anymore, but it is certainly not dead. Now, those fans of the wearable unit could have something to look forward to. According to a report published recently by the Wall Street Journal, and citing the CEO of Luxottica, Massimo Vian, a new version of Google Glass is going to be showcased “soon.” What that might look like, and what features it might have is still unknown, though, as the CEO wasn’t able to provide any other details regarding the wearable unit....

UPDATE: Ubisoft unveiled the first of the two operators earlier today (May 15, 2019). The attacking operator is called Nøkk, and will have an eerie, Banshee-like aesthetic to match her stealthy playstyle. For more details, check out Ubisoft’s announcement here. The new Rainbow Six Siege operators will be coming soon, and it looks like Ubisoft is already preparing fans for their eventual reveal with a quick teaser posted to Twitter late yesterday, showcasing the two potential playstyles of the new characters in one tantalizing image....

The next Resident Evil game is called Project Resistance, and it looks like it it could be a four-player co-op game. Resident Evil is Capcom’s best-selling franchise, having sold 90 million units as of this February. Capcom and the Resident Evil franchise have been seeing a lot of success lately. In 2018, Monster Hunter World brought one of Capcom’s core franchises to the mainstream, and Devil May Cry 5 and the Resident Evil 2 remake made 2019 a year of great Capcom games....

The New York Times has published a lengthy profile on Apple’s Retail operations, describing Apple retail employee pay in comparison to the company’s overall revenues from its retail chain. Controversially, Apple paints the average Apple retail worker as underpaid, comparing the average employee’s $25,000 per year salary against an average $473,000 per year made for Apple by each retail employee and Tim Cook’s large stock grants. Although this is what the NYT seems to initially depict, they then backtrack and say that Apple pays above the average for retailers....

This weekend, Netflix is bringing a stand-up special, a coming-of-age series, the second season of a sci-fi series, and a romance movie. February has come and gone, and with it came some anticipated titles and new seasons, such as To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, Locke & Key, and Narcos: México season 2, further proving that Netflix has nothing to worry about amidst the streaming wars. This month also saw the arrival of a bunch of licensed content, most notably The Pianist, the remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street, Good Time, season 8 of Arrow, and season 4 of Better Call Saul....

New data from Leichtman Research shows that the US cable subscriber market is now smaller than Netflix’s market share which marks a first for the industry. Forbes points out that this has happened thanks both significant growth for Netflix and a slow decline for the cable market. Statista charts this data with a telling visualization: Personally, I subscribe to Netflix but haven’t paid for a cable subscription in a few years, but there can be lots of overlap between cable subscribers and Netflix customers....

Netflix has announced that John Cho is starring in the streamer’s live-action Cowboy Bebop TV show. The original Cowboy Bebop anime series ran for 26 episodes in the late 1990s and followed the adventures of a bounty hunter crew (traveling aboard the spaceship Bebop) in the year 2071. A unique blend of sci-fi, western, and noir tropes, the property was a critical success that went on to become quite popular in both Japan and the U....

Devi Vishwakumar is a real and honest protagonist, making Never Have I Ever a messy story of a teenager working through her grief. The show is already authentic and entertaining due to Devi’s complexity, yet a secondary character managed to further elevate it by offering an unprecedented sense of humor. Trent’s main role is to interject in conversations and offer one-liners, but they’re often the funniest part of any given episode....

Despite Apple’s claim that the book reveals company secrets, reviewers indicate that the material in it is bland and obvious … Reuters reports on the impact of the publicity given to the book by Apple. Still, not bad for a book which, without Apple’s publicity, would probably have been read only by a bunch of German developers and perhaps the lawyers involved in the various antitrust cases against Apple, hoping for some juicy revelations....

After twenty-four seasons, eleven spinoffs, various international versions and a myriad of one-off televised specials, The Bachelor is adding another dating show to its repertoire, this time focusing on an older crowd. This news was announced last Monday as current Bachelor Peter Weber’s season is wrapping up. Weber, a fan favorite from the previous season of The Bachelorette, has been heavily criticized along with the contestants on this season for their childish behavior....

Swipe Navigation Gesture has been introduced on the Android 9.0 Pie OS version officially for FullView user experience. While most of the Android devices which aren’t running on Pie or higher, don’t have this feature. Therefore, the XDA Developers members have developed a custom navigation gestures app without root access on any Android device running Android 5.0 or above. However, it requires a couple of ADB commands in order to disable the stock navbar and enable gesture navigation....

The six-part Netflix docuseries The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez examines a highly-publicized 2013 murder case, one that involves a mother torturing and killing her son. So, how was she punished? The backstory is rather complex, as the victim never lived with his birth father and only briefly lived with his mother. The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez released on Netflix in February 2020. In May 2013, Gabriel died two days after being found with a fractured skull and broken ribs....

Netflix’s The Witcher gets the 90s treatment with an awesome, VHS style fan-made trailer. Based on the dark fantasy short stories and novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher debuted on Netflix on December 20th and quickly became one of the streaming service’s most in-demand shows despite mostly poor reviews. At only eight episodes, season 1 of the wildly successful fantasy series barely scratched the surface of Sapkowski’s first novel, so Witcher fans were elated when the series was renewed for season 2 long before the first season had even aired....

Apple is rolling out improvements to its iTunes Connect portal that developers use to submit and manage their apps on the App Store. In addition to some welcomed UI tweaks, Apple is introducing a few notable improvements for developers. The big ones include increased limits for testing apps in TestFlight, the ability to manage multiple accounts/apps from a single username, and new user roles to allow a team of developers varying access to iTunes Connect features....

Google Photos may be an app available for both Android and iOS, but the company’s latest ad seems to be pitching it squarely at iPhone owners – especially those with 16GB storage. The ad features an iOS-style ‘Storage Full’ message as users try to take photos and video … The video ad is promoting a ‘Free Up Space’ feature Google added to the Photos app last year. Google Photos automatically backs up photos on your iPhone, and the space-saving feature allows you to automatically delete from your phone all photos that are already safely stored online....
