Netflix has today updated its iOS app with better navigation and refreshed media controls. This update brings it to version 11.12.0 and is available now for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. In terms of media controls, Netflix is making it easy to “jump to the exact point you want to” by double tapping the left or right side of the screen for going forward and back. This is similar to how YouTube handles skipping forward and back....

The developer of Xposed framework, rovo89, today released the third alpha of the framework with plenty of bug fixes. The latest alpha still does not make the framework compatible with Android 5.1, Samsung devices or even 64-bit Android devices running Lollipop. Broadcom today announced a first of its kind 5G WiFi system-on-a-chip that will bring faster 802.11ac WiFi and improved performance to smartphones. Apple currently uses a WiFi chip based on the Broadcom technology in the iPhone, iPad and Mac products making the new 5G chip a likely successor for next-generation iOS devices. The chip is the first to implement 2×2 Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) on a smartphone and Broadcom said that will significantly improve performance over current implementations of 802....

The second beta of iOS 11.3 brought with it a brand new framework. ClassKit is a framework designed for educational apps and will allow developers to create activities that teachers assign to their students. Apple is going to release a brand new app called Classwork, designed to track student’s progress in class and share it with teachers. According to a Japanese site that’s behind a paywall, but luckily another Japanese site has copy and pasted the relevant information, the next Nexus 7 is going to come out by the end of July. It’ll be called the “new Nexus 7”, and it’ll have a 1920 x 1200 pixel screen from AUO, it’ll use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro (not the 600, as previously believed), and it’ll cost $229 for the 16 GB model....

Netflix’s adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events isn’t just coming back for a second season, but a third one as well. Narrator Lemony Snicket warned viewers throughout the entire first season of that they should not watch the sad tale of the Baudelaire orphans.
