Netflix has released the full-length trailer for its movie-turned TV series adaptation, Dear White People. Originally released in 2014 from writer/director Justin Simien, Dear White People the film struck a definite chord with audiences at Sundance and went on to become something of a countercultural sensation. Serving as Simien’s feature-length directing debut, the film examines issues of racisms at a fictional Ivy League colleges, from the perspective of multiple African-American students who go there....

However, a new jailbreak tweak enables readers to use the app from anywhere in the world now without waiting or changing regions. Net neutrality protection looks set to return to California after nationwide rules were repealed by the Trump administration in December of last year … California was one of three states to vow to introduce their own laws to restore net neutrality. New York acted first, with an executive order withholding state contracts from any company violating net neutrality principles. Washington state followed suit in March with a more comprehensive law which makes it illegal for companies to block or slow online content – that is, restoring the protections previously applied nationwide....

Netflix has updated its iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch application with redesigned controls for episode selection, audio, and subtitles. The changes make it easier and more intuitive for iPad users to navigate between TV show episodes, while the new audio and subtitle controls are available on both the iPad and smaller iOS devices. Netgear has unveiled its newest offering in its Orbi mesh Wi-Fi router system. The lineup now includes a bundle that features the main router with a built-in cable modem and one satellite. While Apple’s guidance and industry forecasts alike point to the company reporting another quarter of year-on-year decline in iPhone sales, analysts seem increasingly optimistic about the prospects for next year’s iPhone. In a new report released today by Flurry Analytics, Apple has again once topped the charts this holiday season. Using a mix of phone and app activations, Flurry discovered that Apple saw more than double the number of smartphone activations as Samsung, and a noticeable increase in phablet device activations. Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s chief financial officer, last night told those at the Morgan Stanley Technology Conference that the company will talk about the iPhone in the enterprise.
