WARNING! Spoilers for Dracula below. BBC and Netflix’s new Dracula series from Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, the minds behind Sherlock, make some interesting changes to Bram Stoker’s original lore. The series, which functions as three 90 minute episodes, aired on Jan. 4, 2020 on Netflix and premiered Jan. 1, 2020 on BBC One. Dracula stars Claes Bang as the titular role, Dolly Wells as Sister Agatha, John Heffernan as Jonathan Harker, and Morfydd Clark as Mina Murray/Harker....

According to the Developers Blog, spatial audio is one of the new capabilities in the Cardboard SDK. This feature will allow developers to describe the location of sounds their environment, so that the audio will “fit in” with the VR scene users can pinpoint exactly where sounds are coming from, further blending the virtual real worlds. For example, if a plane flies overhead from left to right or a car is honking behind you, the audio will match that sound pattern....

The official NFL Mobile app has been updated today to version 8.6 and with it comes the ability to access live content from the NFL.com/Live website. The feature, which is only available to premium subscribers, will provide the live content previously only streamed on the NFL website in addition to the LIVE NFL games on Thursday, Sunday and Monday nights for both preseason and regular season games offered as Premium features....

If you’re looking for an alternative, there’s a new free toy in town, where NeoOffice.org has introduced a new version of popular, OS X-friendly, open source office suite, NeoOffice. This adds Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard support, and includes NeoOffice Mobile, which provides a way to securely share NeoOffice files with other users and other computers. “In Mac OS X 10.6, Apple made many changes that caused all previous versions of NeoOffice to fail to install or fail to launch,” the team of developers in charge with the suite says....

As if giving Invader Zim and Rocko’s Modern Life belated specials wasn’t enough, Netflix recently announced that they’d be picking up another beloved nostalgic cartoon. Fox has dropped a lot of new Logan promotional material in preparation for the movie hitting theaters soon. This includes a video of adamantium claws being crushed by a hydraulic press that is surprisingly hilarious. The final Fox X-Men film, New Mutants will finally be hitting theaters in April after a two-year delay from its initial release date, and the wait has been especially long for Anya Taylor Joy. Initially there were supposed to be reshoots, but they never actually happened and Disney’s acquisition of Fox pushed things back even further, and Anya Taylor Joy was onboard a year and a half before the movie was even greenlit, so she’s been waiting nearly six years for its arrival....

Netflix closes out the first season of supernatural thriller Spectros with an ending that explains several of the show’s preternatural elements, while still leaving room for speculation. Spectros follows its lead characters as they try to untangle the mystery behind the sudden appearance of ghosts in their São Paulo neighborhood, la Liberdade. Each character has a different link to the spectral appearances. Mila (Claudia Okuno) discovers that her father’s connection to the witch Zenóbia (Miwa Yanagizawa) goes deeper than she ever imagined....

Netflix already offers viewers a variety of options for rewinding, fast-forwarding, or skipping through content; however, Netflix customers have never had the option to adjust the playback speed before. As Netflix loses customers and raises prices, the company has begun to experiment with new features. In addition to Netflix’s award-winning original content, the company has also begun testing weekly releases for certain shows....

Disney’s revival of the Star Wars movie franchise has largely been an overwhelming success.
