But fierce competition from other platforms might be leading to a shift in strategy. Netflix has disrupted the entertainment industry in many ways. It’s emerged as an alternative to moviegoing....

Apple’s new iPhone 12 Leather Sleeve with MagSafe is now available to order. The accessory was first announced alongside the iPhone 12 lineup back in October, but it’s now available to order via the Apple Online Store for $129. The Leather Sleeve for iPhone 12 is designed to hold your device while it’s not in use. The leak claims Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will come equipped with a 120Hz QHD+ display. The leakster, Digital Chat Station, claims that Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will come with a 50MP primary sensor and a 12MP telephoto sensor. Taylor Swift’s surprise album release last week is setting records on streaming services. As reported by Deadline, Swift’s new album Folklore set a record for the most streams in 24 hours for a pop album on Apple Music, garnering 35.47 million plays. Interestingly, the streaming numbers for Folklore on Spotify are even more impressive. According to Swift’s record label, Folklore was streamed 79.4 million times during its 24 hours of availability....

The purpose of IP is to make networks like the internet possible. Within a subnet, it is possible to route traffic at the physical layer using MAC addressing; however, this approach doesn’t scale. As a result, the internet works using IP addresses, which uniquely identify computers on the internet. The Internet Protocol layer contains these addresses and is used to route traffic through the internet. IP is unusual in that there isn’t only one version of IP traffic headers....

Here’s an interesting little tidbit we didn’t notice until just now: Apple boots those new MacBook Pros into 64-bit Snow Leopard rather than 32-bit, like every other Mac out there save the Mac Pro (which the MacBook Pro certainly competes with and juice up to 16GB of RAM). We’re sure some people noticed it before but we hadn’t seen it elsewhere. Also of interest, the new MacBook Pros have 6Gb SATA III which was benchmarked pretty spectacularly by BareFeats....

Sonos has officially unveiled its newest product and it’s looking to disrupt the portable speaker market. In a follow-up to the larger Move portable speaker, the Sonos Roam is in the ultra-portable category with compelling specs and features. At just under 1-pound, Roam offers “brilliant sound” with AirPlay 2, auto WiFi and Bluetooth switching, Qi wireless charging, 10-hour battery life, and more. The folks over at SamMobile have been providing timely updates about Samsung’s progress with Lollipop on the Galaxy S5 and its other devices. Today, they are back with another video showing off a new Android 5.0 based firmware from Samsung in action on the Galaxy S5. Compared to the last Lollipop leak of the Galaxy S5, this new firmware contains relatively minor changes. This includes a new icon for Toolbox and minor UI tweaks throughout the new version of TouchWiz....

The major new feature of Opera 29 FINAL is the ability to browse across a range of devices and be able to sync tabs between mobile and desktop platforms. Furthermore, version 29 also comes with support for customizable keyboard shortcuts and it also brings a new indicator tool to show which browser tab audio is being played from. This last is particularly useful for those moments when you have a lot of tabs and you just can’t find where the sound is coming from....
