Pictures of supposed iPhone 6 production tooling leaked out yesterday. However, the initial images of the molds were blurry and lacked context. A new picture from Nowhereelse.fr compare the molds directly to an iPhone 4s. The new device is substantially larger than the 4s. Nowhereelse did some Photoshopping and overlaid an iPhone 5s onto the image proportionally to gauge how big the impression actually is. Using this method, the site guesses a screen size of approximately 4....

When Google Glass hits the market next year, it’s likely going to start seeing the same improvement cycles as smartphones. By that I mean, look at a flagship phone from 2010 and then look at flagship phone from 2012. In just one cycle, they couldn’t be more different. Take the display in Google Glass as an example. Right now it pushes 640 x 360 pixels. Sounds great, but a Korean company called RAONTEC thinks they can do better....

With Android 5.0 Lollipop, Google has flipped Full Disk Encryption (FDE) to on for all new devices, and the Nexus 6 is among the first devices in the market to ship with FDE enabled. Now, according to the tests conducted by the folks over at AnandTech, there is a significant NAND performance penalty on the Nexus 6 with the encryption enabled. The performance drop while reading random data was a staggering 62....

It appears in the most uninteresting of places—a legal filing by Nvidia. The company is suing Qualcomm for allegedly using various G technologies without the proper licensing. One of Nvidia’s documents mentions the device by name, saying “the HTC Nexus 9, expected in the third quarter of 2014, is also expected to use the Tegra K1.” The Tegra K1 powers the company’s Nvidia Shield, a gaming-focused Android tablet that impressed us in our review....

FUP and Net Neutrality Well, as regards Net Neutrality, TRAI has made it clear that any attempt to prioritize a particular form of data over another form of data will be seen as a violation of Net Neutrality. TRAI did make an exception for intranets but the intranet clause remains cloudy with the only way to get clarity being litigation. While TRAI has said that content hosted on intranets will be exempted from Net Neutrality rules, it has also clarified that any attempt to use intranets to willfully skirt Net Neutrality rules would be seen as a violation....

A new Dark Phoenix movie poster is released by 20th Century Fox, announcing the arrival of the next trailer for the upcoming X-Men film. Disney is currently closing a deal to acquire Fox movie assets, including the X-Men and Fantastic Four film rights. But until that deal closes, Fox is continuing on with their planned release slate, including two 2019 X-Men movie installments: Dark Phoenix and New Mutants. A follow-up to X-Men: Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix will see the return of all the main characters from the X-Men prequel series to adapt The Dark Phoenix Saga comic book story arc....

MacRumors happened upon some code in the new SDK which seems to reveal that a new iPhone is coming in June. While this news isn’t really unexpected, it is the first signs we are seeing that the iPhones are going to be upgraded (what? you thought Apple was going to discontinue them?). On a separate note, they also got a screengrab from a web hits vendor which shows that someone with one of these new iPhones has been browsing the web – or that someone has been spoofing for fun and profit....

We have previously been able to pull data from PreEVT iPhone 5,1 and iPhone 5,2 prototypes codenamed “N41AP (5,1)” and “N42AP (5,2)”, which lead us to believe that the new iPhone will have a bigger 1,136-by-640 display. We also detailed a lot of the hardware (here), but we forgot one very important bit of information. Further investigation into this hardware code dump leads us to believe that these iPhones also have Near Field Communication controllers directly connected to the Power Management Unit....

Following our report this morning that the launch of updated MacBook Pros are imminent, we have been informed that Best Buy stores have recently placed in “Dummy SKUs” for an updated MacBook Pro line. According to the Best Buy inventory system, the new MacBook Pro line will feature an $1199 model, which is the base price for the current 13 inch MacBook Pro. This indicates that the up coming refresh will probably lack a price change....

The SwiftKey team, today, released a new beta of their keyboard for Android with a new installer. The new installer streamlines the whole procedure to setup and personalize SwiftKey, compared to the current installer. The SwiftKey team has been steadily trying to improve the minor issues with their keyboard, and the latest beta is a step in the right direction. The current SwiftKey installer can be a bit complicated for new users, which is what the team is aiming to fix with the new installer in the beta build....

Google has permanently discounted the Nexus 5X to $349 on the Google Store. This means that the handset will now cost you $30 less, which might not be much, but does sweeten the deal further on an already great phone. The price of the 32GB variant of the 5X has not seen any such discount and it continues to be available at $429. During Black Friday, Google had discounted the 5X by as much as $80, but that was only for a short period of time....

The newest NBA 2K20 trailer isn’t even trying to hide the game’s reliance on loot boxes and gambling anymore, as bits of gameplay are interrupted by depictions of both slot machines and wheel-spinning games that actors within the video treat like the most exciting video game development since 3D graphics. NBA 2K20 is the latest in the 2K Games franchise centered around basketball, and it’s long been a contender for best video game about the sport with each yearly release....

When they return this May in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Marvel’s cosmic Avengers are going to be welcoming some new members to the team. In addition to Pom Klementieff’s Mantis (seen in the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 teaser trailer), the team’s numbers are going to be bolstered in their mission against villain Ayesha by returning characters Yondu and Nebula.
