In numbers released in December, NBN said it replaced 99,226 NBN Co Connection Devices (NCD) from 1 December 2020 to 11 November 2021. “Between 1 October 2021 and 11 November 2021 NBN Co has replaced a total of 21,424 devices. This includes replacements as a result of multiple severe weather events across the eastern states of Australia during October,” NBN said in a response to Senate Estimates. “FttC NCDs … can be replaced for a wide variety of reasons, including customers removing the device when they move house, new devices being automatically provided when a customer changes providers, and accidental damage in premises....

The weekend is here, and with it a handful of new releases on Netflix - including stand-up comedy, time travel drama, a rock band biopic, and the long-awaited second season of The OA. Last week’s Netflix releases included a dose of true crime in docuseries The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann, an action-packed heist in the Ben Affleck-led movie Triple Frontier, and the latter half of Arrested Development season 5. The Witcher season 1 ends with Yennefer’s fate unknown, Nilfgaard’s army (temporarily) defeated, and Geralt of Rivia finally united with his Child of Surprise, Ciri. Drawing on Andrzej Sapkowski’s books of short stories The Sword of Destiny and The Last Wish, as well as the first Witcher novel Blood of Elves, the first season of the Netflix shows establishes the three core characters and their place in the Continent. In the series premiere, “The End’s Beginning,” the kingdom of Cintra is invaded by Nilfgaard, a southern empire that has been waging a warpath across the Continent....

Netflix original series YOU has total Dexter vibes. It’s about a serial killer named Joe Goldberg who tends to fall easily for women to the point of becoming obsessed and totally fixated on them. Through each episode, we hear Joe’s twisted inner monologue as he goes about his seemingly normal life while, behind the scenes, he’s trying to rationalize his stalker-like behavior. Joe gets so obsessed with these women that he is even willing to kill for them…or kill them because, well, it’s all for love in his eyes....

Director J.D. Dillard made a cameo appearance in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Dillard is an up and coming director who, at this point in his career, has only directed two feature-length films: Sleight and Sweetheart. Nest has long been a holdout on Apple’s Siri-controlled HomeKit platform, and many have speculated it will never add support due to its ties with Google and its competing offerings. But this week the company told us it’s at least considering adopting HomeKit following some big changes for hardware authentication requirements announced this month. Netflix has released the new Blumhouse film Thriller. Directed by Dallas Jackson, the slasher-style horror is set in South Central Los Angles and examines the deadly consequences of a prank gone wrong. Last September, Thriller first premiered at the LA Film Festival. Despite reports of a “surprise” release, Thriller’s premiere date has been on Netflix’s schedule. In Thriller, Jason Woods stars as Chauncey Page, a student who gets to sent to a youth detention center after accidentally killing a woman....

Netflix’s Spectros presented audiences with a unique take on spectral story-telling, adding Japanese ghost lore and Brazilian witchcraft to the classic “dead-among-the-living” storyline. Spectros follows a group of teens who get their hands on a haunted artifact: a doll containing the ashes that serve as the bridge between the land of the living and the land of the dead. Their neighborhood, Liberdade, has been overrun by ghosts brought back by a necromancer who will do anything to get his hands on the doll and gain control over the dead....

The new features in Hangouts include SMS blocking contact hiding. As you might have guessed, these features give you the option of blocking someone from sending you texts hiding a contact in the application. A new option in the settings will also appear to view edit your blocked hidden contacts. Another small but helpful feature is individual notification tones, allowing you to differentiate messages from important contacts from the rest....
