Back in December, Russian mobile startup Yota Devices released their first Android running handset — the YotaPhone. The unique feature of the phone was its rear mounted E-Ink display which was marred with limited usability and functionality. Today, the company has announced the next-gen YotaPhone with some beefy internals and a fully functional touch e-Ink display on the back. Specs wise, the new YotaPhone will sport a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage....

Originally introduced in January, Netflix has rolled out its Super HD video quality option to all devices and users. Originally, the ability was restricted to certain devices connected to only a few internet service providers, but now it is accessible to anyone with the right internet speed. Super HD is quality better than standard 1080p, as it is full-HD video without certain compression techniques used on standard 1080p playback. According to a new investigation performed by Amnesty International, Apple is one of several technology companies using cobalt mined by child labor in their lithium-ion batteries. The report claims that Apple, Sony, Samsung, and Microsoft are all using the cobalt mined by child labor, as are electric car makes like Volkswagen and Daimler. There are a handful of steps before the cobalt actually gets to an iPhone, however. Traders first purchase the mined cobalt from small producers, then sell it to Congo Dongfang Mining, which is a subsidiary of Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Ltd, a Chinese mineral retailer....

Peter Jackson’s 2005 King Kong was a lot of things - a period piece, an adventure, a tragic romance - but above all it was an action movie that had lots of scenes of Kong doing battle with other massive prehistoric monsters. Nest is today announcing its latest lineup of products including a few brand new devices and an official introduction for its new outdoor security camera. Among the announcements, the company is introducing a new alarm system called ‘Nest Secure’ that comes in the form of a $499 home security starter kit. The kit includes all components of the Secure system including one base called Nest Guard where an alarm, keypad and motion sensor are housed, two ‘Nest Detect’ motion sensors that you can put around your house, and two ‘Nest Tag’ key fobs for controlling the system....

Netflix may have just accidentally revealed a new Jurassic World project, according to a new title that popped up temporarily as a related title when a fan searched for “Jurassic World.” It’s already been taken down, but not before the title, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, was screenshot and tweeted to the public. The streaming war between Netflix and Disney+ has officially begun with the releases of Let It Snow and Noelle.
