Solgaleo - Pokemon Sun Legendary

Psychic/Steel Type Ability: Full Metal Body - Prevents the Pokemon’s stats from being lowered.

This Pokemon showcased new move called Sunsteel Strike, where it leaped into the air and came down with blazing speed. The move instantly knocked out Salamence in the video.

Lunala - Pokemon Moon Legendary

Psychic/Ghost Ability: Shadow Shield - Takes less damage from attacks when at full HP.

This Pokemon was shown using a new move called Moongeist Beam, which instantly knocked out the Gengar in the video. It is safe to say that it is a Ghost-type move since it was super effective.

Customization and Characters

We got a glimpse of the options available for trainer customization, with 4 different skin colors available.

The professor was also unveiled, named Professor Kukui. Based on a picture and short clip, he seems like a more hands-on professor. His look and style makes him seem more like a trainer or gym leader.

He also has a “mysterious” assistant named Lillie. She doesn’t like fighting with Pokemon, and she will play a big part in the story.

You’ll have a new friend in the Alola region, named Hau. He is an energetic boy that loves food. His favorite food is malasadas, a famous treat in the Alola region. He can usually be found searching for one of these malasadas shops.

It was also shown that the Alola region consists of 4 natural islands and 1 artificial island. I’m assuming the artificial island will play into the story, or it may just be where you start at.

New Pokedex

A new generation of of the Pokedex was revealed, and it has a Rotom inside, which is a Pokemon for those that don’t know. However, it says that it is only available after Rotom goes into a body specially designed for the pokedex.

Below is a short video from the official Japanese youtube channel that shows a bit more how the Rotom pokedex will work.

This new Pokedex is given to you by the Professor, so it is safe to assume you won’t have to do anything special to get it. It shows your current location, your destination, and suggests where to go next based on your conversations with others.

The game will also have a QR Scanner function that lets you scan special QR codes. This will register Pokemon to the Alola pokedex so you can find out where they live. Pokemon that were not caught yet will show the habitat so you can go catch them.

That’s all the information that’s available right now, but more will be revealed at E3 during Nintendo’s Treehouse Live event on June 14th-16th.

What do you think of the reveal? Let me know what you liked and hope to see from the new Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon games coming later this year!
