Thermostat red light blinking will this problem be resolved easily?

The answer is yes!

The battery running low is shown by a red light that blinks. A blank screen or a home icon will appear. The blinking light will automatically go away once the battery is charged. This may take from 10 minutes up to an hour.

Check the USB port of the device. Connect the thermostat to the USB cable for it to manually pick up the charge.

Green blinking light:

A green light that keeps on blinking indicates that the software is updating, installed and the device is restarting. Once the process has been completed, which takes 2-3 minutes, the green light will stop blinking.

You can resolve this error following these steps:

Make sure the display is connected to the thermostat. If not, take the display out and put it back in place. You may hear a “click” once it is firmly in place. The device should restart. Orange blinking light:

This indicates that the thermostat needs to be manually charged with the USB cable that already comes in the package. 

To resolve this error, follow these steps:

Remove the display from the thermostat. Connect the appropriate USB cable to your thermostat according to the specifications. You will see the thermostat starts to charge as the screen turns on, it will ask you to place back the display. Make sure the display is connected to the base of the thermostat. If not, take the display out and put it back in place. You may hear a “click” once it is firmly in place.

White Blinking Light:

A white light that blinks on your Nest Thermostat indicates that the device had problems starting up, either restarting after an update or while connecting to your home router. 

To resolve this issue, try out these steps:

Remove the display from the thermostat. Make sure the display’s connection to the thermostat is in place. . If not, take the display out and put it back in place. You may hear a click sound. As a last resort, manually restart the thermostat by pressing down on the display for 10 seconds and releasing it. This force restarts the device.  When the white flashing lights stop, reset the device.

Yellow Blinking Light:

A yellow light that keeps on blinking indicates there is dysfunction in the device, specifically related to the Heat Link. There may be a problem with the wired connectivity to the Heat Link which may prevent your thermostat from properly heating up indoors. 

To fix this problem, try these steps:

Check the error code sent in the App and follow the instructions given there. Push down the button located near the “heat link” to reestablish the connection. Contact customer support if the above steps do not resolve the error.  

Blue Blinking Light:

A blue light that blinks is shown when the device is restarting and does not mean there is an error. However, if it persists even after a few minutes of the restart, try these steps:

Make sure the display is properly connected to the thermostat, and the wires are properly aligned for both heating and cooling.

Manually restart the thermostat by pressing down on the display for 10 seconds and 

releasing it. This force restarts the device.
